WWF, the global conservation organization that has been working in China for 29 years, is looking for a highly skilled professional to be a Communication Manager to HSBC Climate Partnership for the Conservation Strategy in WWF China Programme Office to be based in Shanghai. This position will report to Head of HCPCP.

Function:
·Leads on the development of the HCPCP communications strategy, workplan and budget development in line with Framework of HCPCP and the greater communications strategy of Yangtze Ecoregion and WWF China;
·Coordinates and implements HCPCP communication projects in line with Programme Cycle Management, esp. make sure key events and milestones delivery
·Develops programme-level communication materials and contributes to global (HCP global & WWF Int’l), national (CPO) communications;
·Builds and maintains presence programme-level external communication network (in global, national and basin level);
·Maintains and develops the relationship with HSBC, the programme sponsors
Main Responsibilities
Develop and implement the communications strategy relating to the WWF and the HSBC Climate Partnership;
To lead and facilitate the HCPCP annual work plan and budget development;
To facilitate communication projects of HCPCP implementation in line with Programme Cycle Management.
To facilitate and support the HCPCP programme level and cross-programme campaigns and communication activities;
To integrate the communication resources of HCPCP units and, to build and maintain the information sharing mechanism among the units Related HCPCP;
To lead and develop HCPCP communication packages (flyer, brochures, poster, video, website, etc.) development, updating and dissemination;
To lead and document programme achievements and magnify these through effective communication approaches, such as organizing key partners and donors visits, attract overseas and top domestic media highlights, explore potential fund-raising opportunities and business engagement, etc;
To explore and manage communication opportunities at home and abroad to deliver on HCPCP conservation goals , as well as raise the profile of WWF & HCP
Act as the key liaison point for HSBC in relation to communications activities regarding the partnership and liaise with the other partnership NGOs: Earthwatch, the Climate Group and Smithsonian on communications issues.
To develop and implement a business engagement strategy jointly with HSBC to support their sustainability business practices;
To ensure media hits about the programme with references to WWF, HCP and HSBC are monitored and collected and reported.
Perform other tasks allocated by the supervisor.
Working Relationships
Internal: supervised by the Head of HCPCP, close interaction with the heads of HCPCP Shanghai, Wuhan and Changsha programmes offices, heads of freshwater and Energy & Climate Change Programmes, Communication Departments of WWF China Programme Office (CPO) and WWF UK, WWF Int’l, etc.
External: close interaction with HCPCP key partners, HSBC HCP programmer managers, regular interaction with relevant governmental agencies, NGOs and research institutions.
Qualifications Required
1. Background on brand and/or marketing communications, media or public relations;
2. At least five years experience in brand and/or marketing, media or PR related work;
3. Strong ability to coordinate among various internal and external parties;
4. Experience in developing strategic communication strategies that have supported successful policy advocacy.
5. Extensive experience in coordinating and supporting the identification, design and implementation of communications events and activities;
6. Demonstrating leadership in driving overall communications work of the Programme
7. Proactive, innovative and output-oriented personality with good communication skills;
8. Good English in writing, speaking and reading;
9. Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management experience; ability to lead and work in a team with other staff in achieving common goals and ability to work hard and meet deadlines;
10.Willingness to update professional knowledge and skills.
